Distinct Network Monitor is able to save a network capture into the Distinct format currently supported by MergeDPM, a DICOM Protocol Monitor. The information captured by Network Monitor can then be used by MergeDPM to determine the cause of problems within DICOM packet communications.
The DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine) standard was created by the National Electrical Manufacturers Association to aid the distribution and viewing of medical images, such as CT scans, MRIs, and ultrasound.
To save a network trace for use with MergeDPM instead of selecting the Save option, users should select the SaveAs option and make sure that Format for MergeDPM is selected.
